The Story of an Artist

I was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1982. My first desires to create came about at the age of 5 when my aunt, Juliet, who was a editor for Harper's Baazar Fashion Magazine in New York City, would come and visit us for the summer. She would always bring her old magazines and sketches for me to cut out and make collages with. She sensed that drawing was my favorite playtime activity.

Absorbing the essence of this, I began to draw and imagine my own self as an artist, I would even put together and draw pretend outfits with paper for my mom and her friends. At night, I would use my imagination and pretend that my bed was a runway and dress up in my mother's fashion and draw into a sketchbook.
